“Toning” shoes get a smack down!

Matt had written an excellent post about the popular “toning” shoes awhile back. Go read it if you haven’t yet.

Then I want to direct you to a recent post over at Obesity Panacea about “toning” shoes.

To be clear, these “toning” shoes, whatever type, are NOT going to help you lose weight or get in better shape, period!

What type of MINDSET do you have?

Recently I have been doing a good amount of reading about success, i.e., Why people are successful. My readings have included some popular books, Talent is Overrated: What really separates world-class performance from everybody else by Geoff Colvin, Outliers: the story of success by Malcom Gladwell and Mindset: The new psychology of success by Carol Dweck which are all worth reading. Most of the information presented in these books has to done with being successful in sports, careers, music and such, and not so much about being successful in losing fat and maintaining a healthy weight. However, I think that a lot of the information is relevant to weight management, particularly the information presented in Mindset. Read more »
